Fall
It is finally my favorite season of the year. The weather is cooler, the leaves are turning, the days are getting shorter and that magical golden light is gracing the beginning and end of each day. Here are our staples of autumn at casa Landrum-Long:
We have been using the above French press lately for our habitual morning brew because it keeps everything so piping hot for quite a while. As you all know, I am an avid fan of coffee and I am a bit of a snob. It is true that the French press method really makes the most flavorful cup so we have made the switch and stored the drip coffee maker.
I am currently making my way through this might tome and really enjoying it. Spending an afternoon with a good book is an essential fall activity and this one does not disappoint. Franzen hit me over the head with his Midwest-gothic aesthetic in The Corrections but Freedom is an excellent marriage of character development and discussion about the pitfalls of American “liberalism.”
The Barbour Bedale. The best jacket ever-made and Corey and I are sure to have this one for years and years to come. I am aware that my personal style has become increasingly “Town & Country.” I blame it on Scotland…
Pendleton Wool Blankets. I would bathe my house in these and plan on showering these on my sister when they build their abode in Maine.
To me, Fall is Elvis’ season. We got him almost a year ago and I think of him as the perfect animal for autumn. He clearly loves it as much as we do because his walks have gotten longer, there is a pep in his step and he was made to snuggle. Nothing makes me happier than this sweet dog.
