Scotland

Lendrum Farm, originally uploaded by landrumfam.

So, we are headed to Scotland for two weeks this coming Saturday. This is a picture of my most amazing and intensely missed grandfather standing on Lendrum farm (our namesake…somewhere along the way it was changed to Landrum). I can’t tell you how excited I am. I will be spending time with my family AND Corey’s family. My wonderful nieces will be there and seriously, the only thing missing will be Elvis. Corey and I are even going to see The Vaselines play in their native land. Oh, the countdown is truly on!

Killer Family Photo

This is my late grandmother, Edith aka Grandmama, taking it easy in her pool. I love this picture. The colors, her swimming cap, her skinny little legs, how relaxed she looks. It makes me miss her. She was a hoot. And she loved her pool. On a hot day, I wish I was in there with her!

Hostess

Rachel, Corey’s sister is in town from Bellingham, WA. And our good friend Jean-Philippe is visiting from Paris. We have been out and about today enjoying the Atlanta sights. First off, a little breakfast at Rise-n-Dine in Emory Village and then off to Oakland Cemetery for a good ol’ gothic Southern time.

Wedding Advice

The below is a letter from my oldest niece Sophie who is 4 years-old and full of ideas. I love this girl so much. I don’t think it will be hard for you to figure out why:

Father’s Day

This is my dad. When this picture was taken, I imagine that he was in the midst of lovingly making fun of me or cracking a witty joke. He is a sweet, sweet man who has never let me down. His sense of humor, balance, love for his family, ability to put up with my dog and steadfast hatred of cheese endear him to me everyday. Dad, I didn’t get to see you on Father’s Day but I sure did count my lucky stars that you are mine!
